The Webometric Rankings of World Universities has ranked Egerton University at position 3 in Kenya in the January 2022 rankings. The Webometric rankings assess universities in impact, openness and excellence parameters.
In Kenya, groundnut farming has been a domain of small scale farmers in the western parts of the country however, Egerton University, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), has been working on bringing the crop to farmers in Turkana County.
Egerton Radio will host 15 journalism interns who have been selected and placed at the station under the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) paid-up internship programme.
The programme that will see the MCK pay the interns Ksh. 15, 000 per month to meet their expenses, was launched in November, last year. Apart from training, the programme is aimed at strengthening relations between the MCK and the media industry.
The new Director of Confucius Institute (CI) Prof. Liu Yutao paid a courtesy call to the Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof. Japheth Onyando on 6 January 2022. The Director is from the College of Engineering at Nanjing Agricultural University, China.
