International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It is a time to reflect on progress made and to call for change. The day marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity through empowering women with a space to share their thoughts and ideas for a better world and to be part of global conversations and actions seeking to champion gender equality.

The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage, on 9 March 2022, addressed student representatives at Main Campus in Njoro to update them on the current status of the University. He said that the University Senate had considered their request to extend the semester by one week.

The Egerton University banner was flown high during the just concluded World Engineering Day Hackathon after a project by two of its students scooped third place globally. The virtual event was held on 4 March 2022. The final year students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology presented their project dubbed Hyapak that had been shortlisted alongside nine other projects from across the world that had made it to the finals.

Members of the Egerton University Engineering Students Association (EESA) recently completed the first phase of their pioneer Pavement Project near the Faculty of Law building, on the Njoro Campus. The project was initiated by the members under the leadership off their Chairman, Mr. Boaz Omunga Mauti, to help put to practice the skills they learn in class. This would help them realize one of the Club's objectives which is to equip its members with technical experiences in the engineering field. The project involved designing the pavements, welding the moulds and kerbs, and eventually laying down the slabs.
