As Kenya grapples with the harsh realities of climate change, the need for crop diversification has never been more urgent.

Prof. Nancy Mungai, the acting Director of Research and Extension and TAGDev Coordinator, took part in a panel discussion focused on training the next generation of engaged, productive young Africans on the second day of the 2nd RUFORUM Triennial Conference.

On the second day of the 2^nd Triennial RUFORUM Conference, discussions centred on the urgent need for African universities to align their efforts toward work readiness and transformative education. The panel on "Work Readiness: Transformative Efforts by African Universities" was opened by Egerton University Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage, who delivered a speech on behalf of Kenya’s Principal Secretary at the State Department for Higher Education and Research Dr Beatrice Inyangala.

At the 2nd RUFORUM Triennial Conference, Egerton University's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Kibwage, joined Gulu University's Prof. George Openjuru in a panel discussion reflecting on the impact of TAGDev 1.0. Prof. Kibwage emphasized the transformational changes brought by the program at Egerton University, highlighting how agriculture, often associated with poverty, has been repositioned as a lucrative field for young people.
