To promote environmental conservation, Egerton University staff, students and the community, on Saturday 31 July 2021, held a tree planting event at the University's Water Dam site next to University Botanical Garden.
Egerton University’s Management Board (UMB) during a Training on Leadership and Governance organised by Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness Management (CESAAM) in partnership with BHeard-USAID. The training facilitated by the Kenya School of Government is running from 21 to 23 July 2021 in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
Egerton University, through the support of the University Council, has launched a Bee Research and Demonstration Unit (BRDU) at the Agro-Science Park and the Dryland Research Training and Ecotourism Centre (DRTEC).
DRTEC's role in transforming lives through extension and community community engagement has not been easy during this Covid-19 pandemic. Most of the planned activities had to be cancelled or scaled down so as to adhere to the World Health Organisation containment measures.
