Graduands, this is your day. You have arrived here through perseverance, discipline and sacrifice. On behalf of the University Management Board, Senate, Alumni and the entire University fraternity, I congratulate you.
It is my great honour to stand before you at this 49th Graduation Ceremony of Egerton University. On behalf of the University Council, I warmly congratulate all our graduands on this outstanding achievement.
Ladies and gentlemen,
I welcome you to this AI in Higher Education Summit hosted here at Egerton University, a first at this institution. I am delighted to see scholars, innovators and researchers gathered here to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can redefine the future of learning, research and innovations.
Yesterday, as we opened this landmark AI in Higher Education Summit, I spoke of Egerton University’s excitement in convening this dialogue, the first of its kind here. Today, as we gather for the session titled “Harnessing AI to Drive Egerton’s Mission in Teaching, Research, and Community Transformation,” we move from reflection to direction. This is the moment to think deeply about how we, as universities, can position ourselves to benefit from and shape the AI era.
