Egerton University recently hosted a workshop to validate its Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) strategy, as well as its Consultancy Policy and Extension and Outreach Policy documents.The goal of the workshop was to gather insights from stakeholders, including important figures within the university such as the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Professor Benard Aduda, and the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration Planning and Development, Richard Mulwa. The workshop was moderated by Professor Nancy Mungai.

The ACEII National Steering Committee was Monday, February 6, 2023 chaired by PS Higher Education Dr. Beatrice Inyangala with Partners representatives and stakeholders sitting at Arc Hotel, Egerton University.

In Africa, the threat of climate change is particularly felt in the drylands where water scarcity and unpredictable rainfall patterns are a major challenge to food security. Dryland Cereals and Legumes (DCL) crops, especially sorghum, Millets, pigeon peas, Chickpeas, Groundnuts, cowpeas, play a crucial role in mitigating the effects of climate change in these areas. 

African food heritage is a rich and diverse part of our continent's cultural heritage. From the savory stews of West Africa to the spicy curries of East Africa, indigenous African food has been enjoyed for generations.
