Members of the Kenya Universities Staff Union (KUSU), Egerton University Chapter, convened for their Annual General Meeting (AGM), where they received comprehensive updates on the union's financial status, collective bargaining milestones, and ongoing efforts to improve staff welfare.

Egerton University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Isaac O. Kibwage, has officially welcomed the University’s new first-year students, congratulating them on earning their place at the institution and urged  them to embrace responsibility and discipline as they begin their academic journey.Speaking during the first-year students’ orientation programme on Monday, 24th August 2026,  at Main Campus, Njoro, Prof. Kibwage described university life as an exciting and transformative stage that offers opportunities for academic growth and personal development.

Egerton University Director of Research, Prof George Owuor, has urged newly admitted students to embrace critical thinking, research and innovation as they begin their academic journey at the University.Speaking during the second day of the first-year orientation programme, Prof Owuor challenged the students to view themselves not only as learners but also as future researchers and innovators capable of contributing solutions to challenges facing society.
