Egerton University emerged as one of the biggest winners at the 2026 Nakuru National Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show after clinching five major awards in recognition of excellence in agricultural research, innovation and climate-smart technologies.

Dr Tabitha Awuor Amollo, a lecturer and researcher at Egerton University, has been internationally recognized among five trailblazing women scientists from the Global South selected for the 2026 OWSD–Elsevier Foundation Award for Early-Career Women Scientists. The announcement, made by Elsevier in February 2026, highlights her contribution to advancing sustainable energy research and her growing influence in the field of physics and materials science.

Egerton University has officially received its ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) certification from the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), marking a major milestone in the institution’s pursuit of excellence and international recognition. The launch event, held at the Main Campus in Njoro, brought together members of the University Council, management, staff, students, and key stakeholders to celebrate the achievement.
