Egerton University has announced the appointment of Prof. Arnold Opiyo as the new Director of the Confucius Institute, effective 6 March 2025. Prof. Opiyo, an accomplished researcher in the Department of Crops, Horticulture and Soils at the Faculty of Agriculture, brings with him a wealth of experience in academia and research.

Egerton University has appointed Mr Charles Wanjohi, CPA, as its new Chief Finance Officer (CFO). With extensive experience in financial management and a proven track record in public finance, Mr Wanjohi is expected to bring strategic leadership to the University’s financial operations, ensuring efficiency and accountability.

Dr Moses Mwangi Thiga has been appointed as the new Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Egerton University. With an extensive background in ICT, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity, Dr Thiga is well-equipped to enhance the University’s technological capabilities and support its mandate in teaching, learning and research as well as in administration.

Egerton University has appointed Professor George Owuor as the new Director of Research and Extension following a competitive selection process. Prof. Owuor brings with him a wealth of experience in academia, research, and leadership, positioning him as a key figure in advancing the University’s research agenda.
