Egerton University’s 48th Graduation Ceremony, held on 29 November 2024, featured a notable moment: the ceremonial introduction of the University Council to the Chancellor. Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac O. Kibwage carried out this role.

Dr Narendra Raval (Guru), the Chancellor, was introduced to the University Council comprising of Dr Paul M. Mwangi Alternate to the Principal Secretary, State Department for Higher Education and Research, Ministry of Education; Mr Julius K. Mutua: Alternate to the Cabinet Secretary, The National Treasury and Economic Planning; Hon. Gideon Koske, Mr. Charles N. Njenga, Ms. Brenda N. Lubisia, and Eng. Christopher Oanda. Prof. Kibwage also serves as the Council Secretary.
The Chief Guest during the 48th Graduation Ceremony was Mr Fredrick Ndambuki Representative of the Principal Secretary State Department for Higher Education and Research, Ministry of Education.
After the introductions, the ceremonial robing of the Chancellor, Council members, Vice Chancellor, and the Chief Guest took place, underscoring their roles in the academic proceedings. This tradition reflects the unity and shared purpose of the University’s leadership.
