Egerton University recently hosted a workshop to validate its Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) strategy, as well as its Consultancy Policy and Extension and Outreach Policy documents.The goal of the workshop was to gather insights from stakeholders, including important figures within the university such as the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Professor Benard Aduda, and the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration Planning and Development, Richard Mulwa. The workshop was moderated by Professor Nancy Mungai.

It was a day of excitement and celebration on Friday, February 10, 2023, as Egerton University held its 46th Graduation ceremony at the main campus in Njoro, Nakuru City County. The ceremony marked the first physical graduation since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 46 Graduation Ceremony is special because, in addition to sending so many graduates into the world, the University Community is also celebrating five of the best writers from among our undergraduate students.
The Rector of Abrar University Somalia, Prof Dr. Ahmed Abdulkadir Kadle, and Dr. Ahmed Said Mohamud, Director of Research & Post Graduate Studies at the University of Red Sea, Somalia, paid a visit to Egerton University yesterday morning.
In the 2022/2023 academic year, the Chancellor of Egerton University, Dr Narendra Raval, offered to sponsor an essay writing competition for all the undergraduate students of the University
Environmental Science Department at Egerton University Wins £400,000 Grant for Research and Innovation.The Division of Research at Egerton University, led by Prof. Nancy Mungai, is celebrating a significant win as Prof. Wilkister N. Moturi of the Environmental Science department at the Faculty of Environment and Resources Development secures a grant of 400,000 pounds equivalent to approximately 62,270,000 Million Kenyan shillings from the European Commission.
The grant-winning project by Dr. Miriam K. Charimbu, titled "Exploring the potential of Togotia, a forgotten African leafy vegetable for nutritional security and climate adaptation in Kenya," is a promising initiative that aims to address the pressing issues of nutritional security and climate adaptation in Kenya. The project is funded by Innovate UK KTN Award 2022, with a total grant of £32,319.57, and is set to run for six months.
Egerton University Research Division is set to benefit from the recent grants awarded to Prof. Josiah Ouma Omolo, a leading chemist in the Faculty of Science at his university. These grants will support his work in the field of biotechnology, a significant step towards solving real-world problems.
For the second year in a row, Egerton University engineers, Joseph Nguthiru and Charles Rugendo have an innovation that has been shortlisted for presentation in World Engineering Day globally.
The innovation, dubbed Eco-Fluido, is among the top 12 innovations selected to be showcased on March 4th during the World Engineering Day Hackathon
The main campus of the Egerton University was the venue for the event, which saw participants from different categories competing in the races. The categories included Junior men, Junior women, Adult men over 55 years, Adult women over 55 years, and the professional men. The highlight of the event was the 10 Kilometers race, which crowned the winner
