Egerton University Explores Indian Academic Ties
Egerton University is seeking new collaborations with institutions in India. The goal is to enhance education and research. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage led an Egerton delegation. They met with India's High Commissioner, H.E. Dr Adarsh Swaika. The meeting was described as "highly productive."
Prof. Kibwage was joined by Prof. George Owuor, Director of Research, and Prof. Ouma Omolo, a lecturer. They discussed pathways to deepen partnerships.
The Africa Centre of India (ACoI) welcomed the talks. ACoI is an Indo-African think-tank. It called the meeting "a welcome development to enhance research collaborations."
The centre also stated it would be "happy to explore collaboration possibilities" with Egerton University.
Discussions focused on several key areas. These include joint research initiatives. They also include faculty and student exchanges. The groups aim to build stronger institutional ties.
These efforts reflect the "enduring friendship" between Kenya and India.
Prof. Kibwage thanked the High Commissioner for the meeting. "We thank H.E. Dr Adarsh Swaika and his team for their hospitality," said Prof. Kibwage. "We are looking forward to future dialogues."
