Egerton University was honoured to host officials from the Kenya Scouts Association (KSA) for a courtesy call as the Inaugural National Rovers Moot takes place at the University’s Kenyatta Campus.
The delegation was led by Solomon Kimani (Camps & Sites Officer), Joyce Jowi (Finance & Administration Management), Isaac Makinya (Youth Programme Officer), and the Kisii County Scouts Commissioner. They paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor, who warmly welcomed the team and Rover Scouts drawn from across the country.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed joy at hosting the historic event, noting that Kenyatta Campus offers a serene, secure, and resourceful environment ideal for camping, learning, and adventure. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to supporting youth-centered programs that foster leadership and community service.
Prof. Nzula Kitaka, Director of Marketing and Resource Mobilization, who has been instrumental in hosting and coordinating the Scouts’ engagement, lauded the collaboration with the Egerton University Scouts Crew (Apache Crew) led by Mr. Kurian Musa, and the Kenya Scouts Association.
She described the event as “a great milestone that has made the Kenyatta Campus a buzz of activities throughout the week.”
Also speaking during the visit, Prof. Kipkemboi expressed delight that the Scouts would enjoy services offered by Egerton University’s Income Generating Units (IGUs) such as Catering, renowned for quality hospitality and service.
