Egerton University has commissioned modern audio-visual equipment at the Nakuru City College Campus, marking a significant step in enhancing teaching and learning experiences. The launch was led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac O. Kibwage, who challenged faculty members to ensure that the newly installed systems are fully utilized to improve student engagement and delivery of lectures.
“I hope and believe that the students at the furthest end of the lecture hall can now see and listen to the instructors audibly and with clarity of vision,” Prof. Kibwage remarked during the event. The new equipment has been installed in three lecture theatres, designed to support large class sizes and modern teaching approaches.

The Vice Chancellor was joined by Prof. George Ogendi, Acting Principal of Nakuru City College Campus; Prof. Nzula Kitaka, Director of Marketing and Resource Mobilization; Prof. Samson Obure, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences; and several Chairs of Departments from the Faculties of Commerce and Health Sciences.
Prof. Ogendi expressed gratitude to the University Management for investing in the campus, noting that the new installations would greatly improve learning outcomes and attract more students. “This investment is timely and positions the City Campus as a center of academic excellence within Nakuru City,” he said.
Prof. Obure welcomed the development, saying the learners had long awaited such facilities. “It’s good news for our students, especially those in health sciences who rely on clear demonstrations and visuals,” he noted.

Prof. Kitaka added that the initiative signals Egerton University’s readiness to accommodate a growing student population and to provide cutting-edge learning environments.
The event drew enthusiastic attendance from staff and faculty, who applauded the management’s continued commitment to innovation in teaching.
