Egerton University inaugurated the Pedagogy Training at the Science Complex geared towards enhancing teaching methodologies and strategies across all Faculties. The four-day training, commencing on January 23 and concluding on Friday, January 26, 2024, was organized by the Faculty of Education and Community Studies.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of theVice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Kibwage, who emphasized the transformative impact of Pedagogy Training in shaping the future of education. Accompanying him was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Bernard Aduda, highlighting the University's commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative academic environment.
Addressing the audience, Prof. Kibwage articulated the significance of pedagogy in shaping the learning experience for students. He underscored the dynamic nature of teaching, urging academic staff to move beyond traditional methods and embrace more active, engaging, and inclusive pedagogical approaches.
The Vice Chancellor urged instructors to focus on facilitating active learning experiences rather than mere content delivery. He challenged the academic community to diversify pedagogy, recognizing the diverse backgrounds, goals, and skills of students.
In his closing remarks, Prof. Kibwage expressed confidence that the Pedagogy Training would equip the academic staff with the tools and insights needed to create an inclusive and enriching learning environment for all students.
