Anticipation is building ahead of this evening’s Egerton University Alumni Dinner, following a high-level meeting of the Egerton University Alumni Association (EUAA) Board chaired by Dr Richard Rop.The Dinner will be attended by University top leadership, high-end guests, ordinary members and Life Members of the Egerton University Alumni Association.

The planning meeting brought together the Alumni leadership to reflect on the Association’s journey, take stock of milestones achieved, and chart a strategic path forward as the alumni body continues to strengthen its role in the University’s development agenda.
During the deliberations, the Board reviewed key achievements of the Association, alongside emerging challenges and notable breakthroughs, critical discussions centred on budgets, the Christian Union Association report, and forward-looking investment plans at the historic Lord Egerton Castle.

The Board also examined priority areas where the alumni body is actively supporting the University through close advisory engagement with University Management, reinforcing the alumni’s position as a strategic stakeholder in governance, growth, and innovation.The Alumni Dinner is expected to attract a distinguished line-up of guests drawn from the alumni fraternity and national leadership.Among those invited are Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru, Nation Media Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Geoffrey Odundo, Egerton University Council Chairman Prof. James Sang, the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Gender and Equality Commission, among other prominent leaders.
EUAA Secretary General underscored the significance of the dinner, noting that Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage will host the guests as part of a deliberate engagement with key stakeholders who continue to shape the University’s trajectory.Dr Rop expressed appreciation to the Director of Marketing and Resource Mobilization, Prof. Nzula Kitaka, for steering the Directorate that hosts the Alumni Relations Office, citing strong institutional support, guidance, and innovative initiatives.Meanwhile, Egerton University Students Association Chairman John Mutuma called on “alumni in residence” to formally subscribe to the Alumni Association upon graduation, emphasizing collective responsibility in supporting the University through ideas, resources, linkages, and investments that enhance infrastructure, research, and innovation.

Also expected at the dinner is Mr. Moses Kiogora, a prominent alumnus and EUAA Board members and Brand Ambassador, whose longstanding service and advocacy continue to strengthen alumni-university linkages.
