Following the 15^th Presidential address on the Corona Virus Pandemic, Senate at its 521^st special meeting held on 27^th March 2021 resolved as follows:

Following the receipt of disbursement of HELB Loans on Tuesday 16^th March 2021 by the University,sthe University Management Board at its meeting on Wednesday 17^th March 2021 resolved that the portal be re-opened to allow students to register.

This is therefore to inform all students that the portal will be re-opened from Friday 19^th to Wednesday 24^th March 2021 at 11.59p.m.All students are asked to take advantage of this window and ensure that they are fully registered for the semester and do unit registration before the portal closes.

Beyond the deadline, any student who will not have registered is expected to vacate the University. Disciplinary action will be taken against any such student if found illegally in campus.

The following students have been invited to attend a meeting on dates as indicated. All the meetings are scheduled to start at 9.00am at the Faculty of Education & Community Studies (FEDCOS) Theatre II

Mastercard Foundation has partnered with the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM; www.ruforum.org), a network of 129 universities in 38 African countries to Transform African Agricultural Universities (TAGDev) to meaningfully contribute to Africa’s growth and development. The aim of the partnership is to transform African agricultural universities and their graduates to better respond to developmental challenges through enhanced application of science, technology, business and innovation for rural agricultural transformation.

After a long wait due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we finally welcomed our first year students (2020 cohort) to campus on the 4^th and 5^th of January 2020. This was a great opportunity for the students to be fused into the Egerton community. The students were admitted, registered, underwent orientation, and were attending classes on the University e-learning online platform. These students finally have an opportunity for in person interactions with their faculty. I trust that they will find inspiration from the confines of a secure and safe campus teeming with abundant agricultural resources and amenities for their education.

We have once again come to the end of the year, yet 2020 is a year unlike any in recent memory. Anunrelenting world pandemic whose magnitude and full impact is yet to be ascertained has continued toravage nations big and small. As the students finish their examinations and the academic year of 2020 draws to a close, I would like to take a pause to thank the students, faculty, and staff for their hard work,commitment, and devotion to the University. 

Egerton university (Crops, Horticulture & Soils Department) is partnering with the FutureWater and HiView (The Netherlands) to conduct a tailor-made training on Crop models and remote sensing for water management in agricultural systems.The training begins from 21st January, 2020.
