WORK EXPERIENCE

·         Preparation, implementation and monitoring of the university’s annual consolidated procurement and asset disposal plans.

  • Ensure a clear channel of communication with internal user departments, suppliers and logistic partners,
  • Assist where necessary the User departments in preparation of specifications, scope of works, Statement of requirements (Bill of Quantities) and Terms of Reference
  • Ensure strict adherence and compliance  to the procurement and asset disposal policies and control measures
  • Monitor suppliers/ contractor’s performance; address any arising issues and implement improvement plans
  • Plan and coordinate logistics, including distribution of goods procured in liaison with transport and user departments
  • Identify risks in the supply chain and implement set aside risk mitigation
  • Preparation of tender advertisements and addenda.
  • Contracts preparation, implementation and management.
  • Negotiating major procurement contracts
  • Coordinating internal auditing and evaluation of supply chain management processes
  • Prepare Local Purchase Orders for Service Providers
  • Prepare monthly/ quarterly status reports on contracts, supplier performance
  • Coordination of prequalification and registration of suppliers
  • Preparation of periodic statutory reports to the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards relating to Procurement of goods, services and works
  • Providing secretariat services to Adhoc committees undertaking procurement activities
  • Preparation of tender documents in liaison with user departments so as to facilitate fair competition.
  • Ensuring timely Procurement of goods, services and works
  • Preparation and dispatching of tender award and regret letters to bidders.
  • Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date procurement and logistic records/documentations.
  • Initiating disposal of unserviceable, obsolete and surplus stores and equipment
  • Conducting training needs assessment
  • Performing any other duty assigned to me by the head of procurement function from time to time.
