Ms Catherine Kariuki is a Ph.D student and Msc holder in Environmental science. Has 17yrs experience providing environmental - biological science technical support to students in teaching laboratories, research projects and the department, through;

  • Applying standard biological science practices and techniques to identify monitor and resolve problems in teaching and research.
  • Offering technical expertise to students, small student projects and/or portions of large, complex projects assigned to higher-level professionals.
  • Inspecting and evaluating reliability and maintainability of existing equipment and systems.
  • Preparing annual procurement plans and procuring departmental supplies.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

2004 to 2018: Senior Technologist I – Egerton University / Faculty of Science, biological Sciences department, Roles; Teaching laboratory sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate students; offering technical support to research projects

2018 to date; Acting Chief technologist; biological sciences dept. Roles; Teaching practical sessions to students, offering technical support to projects, assisting the Chairman of dept in technical duty allocation, departmental procurement of teaching materials among other duties.
