SUMMARY

Kelvin Karanja Kuria is a civil engineer, researcher, and tutorial fellow at Egerton University, Kenya. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Széchenyi István University, Hungary, where his research focuses on assessing the seismic vulnerability of reinforced concrete (RC) public buildings using fragility curves developed through pushover and dynamic analyses. His work aims to enhance the resilience of critical infrastructure such as schools and hospitals.

With expertise in high-cycle fatigue, concrete durability, and structural retrofitting, Kevin has participated in Erasmus+ programs, studying advanced topics in seismic resilience and concrete strength. As an educator, he has taught courses on labor relations and productivity in the Kenyan construction industry and supervised theses on advanced civil engineering topics.

Kevin’s contributions include several publications on seismic vulnerability and sustainable construction, reflecting his commitment to bridging research and practical solutions for disaster resilience.
