SUMMARY

Nicasio Maguu Muchuka is a lecturer in the department of electrical and control engineering (ECEN) at Egerton University. He holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from Stellenbosch University, an M.Sc. in Electronics from the University of Mysore, and a B.Sc. in Electronics, Physics, and Mathematics from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. He lectures in the areas of physical electronics, analog electronics, digital electronics, and embedded systems for undergraduate courses and numerical methods for postgraduate courses. His research interest currently is in AI-embedded systems, electronic design automation, VLSI design, and computational engineering. He is currently working with agricultural engineering postgraduate students on the automation of agricultural processes and system optimization.

Dr. Muchuka has served as the associate dean of engineering and technology for two years, where he worked with the incumbent dean to ensure a smooth running of the faculty. During the time he chaired several meetings and more than five postgraduate thesis defenses. He has  also served as the examination and timetabling officer of the ECEN department, where he improved the exam quality by providing a generic self-moderating chart that helps in balancing the questions within Bloom’s taxonomy.

His commitment to teaching is evident from his punctuality in class, online and face-to-face interaction with students, timely release of assessment results, and timely completion of course coverage. He is also commited to quality reasearch as depicted by the list of projects and the list of publications.
