SUMMARY

Alice is  a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Medical-Surgical Nursing) and  Lecturer  at Egerton University, Faculty of Health Sciences, department of Nursing. Her career objective is to be an expert in clinical interventions, teaching and research in line with the Vision, Mission and Objectives of Egerton University. Her aim is to pursue scholarly excellence and generate and disseminate knowledge and skills to students and healthcare workers through training and mentorship to help in mitigation of disease and suffering.

She has  vast experience in Medical Surgical Nursing, Maternal Neonatal Health and Public Health with special interest in Simulation-Based Medical Education,  cancer screening, diagnostics and therapies;  Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care and traditional and other practices that negatively impact health.

She has  been involved in  collaborations with teams from Israel Universities and Organizations (Technion, Tel Aviv and Mashav), United States of America (University of Uttah, university of Nebraska Medical Centre), Rotary International,  Liverpool Tropical School of Medicine (Make it Happen project) that oversaw training of Egerton University FHS staff, Medical Officers, Nurses and clinical officers from Nakuru County department of Health on life saving skills on maternal and neonatal Health.

She has strong team leadership and networking skills, she successifully led teams in actualizing the 'Helping Babies Program'  by Rotary International and University of Uttah and subsequently for sustainability, opening  a skills Laboratory at the Nakuru County Teaching and Referral Hospital which is currently being utilized by Egerton University students, students from other institutions and staff.

In collaboration with the Africa Coordinating Centre for the Abandonment of FGM,  the University of Nairobi and Egerton University FHS (Department of Nursing, reproductive Health, Community Health), she  has overseen training and certification of all fnal year medical  students (Nursing, MBchB, Clinical Medicine) from the year 2022 to date, making Egerton University the best University in the western block in  Implementation of the End FGM Interventions, this earned Egerton University FHS best  students an opportunity (Upon graduation) to Practice in a model Health Facility in Nairegia  Enkare, Narok County which intergrates EFGM interventions in clinical services,   to improve their skills as they await internship placement.

She also served as a member of the Trans Nzoia Health Transformation Taskforce, specifically leading teams in Health Service Delivery and Health Products and Technologies.
