Egerton University has appointed Prof. Wilkister Moturi as the new Director of the Directorate of Linkages and Collaborations, marking a significant transition in the University’s strategic partnership and international engagement agenda.Prof. Moturi takes up the three-year appointment, succeeding Prof. Daniel O. Auka, who is currently away on leave. Her appointment brings to the Directorate an accomplished academic and administrator with extensive experience in institutional planning, partnerships and international engagements.
The Directorate is mandated to strengthen Egerton University’s global footprint and institutional networks through strategic academic and research collaborations. Its responsibilities include developing and sustaining partnerships and Memoranda of Understanding with reputable institutions, facilitating staff and student exchange and mobility, supporting collaborative research and resource mobilisation, and coordinating services for international students and scholars.
The Directorate also plays an important role in strengthening engagement with industry and the private sector to advance innovation, research commercialisation and sustainable funding opportunities.
Prof. Moturi’s appointment comes with valuable experience relevant to the Directorate’s mandate. She previously served alongside Prof. Auka on the University’s Strategic Planning Committee, contributing to initiatives focused on institutional growth, resource mobilisation and outreach.
She has also participated in high-level diplomatic and academic engagements, including collaborations between Egerton University and the French Embassy in Environmental sustainability, research and student exchange. She also has collaborations with Indian, Swedish and Belgian institutions.
