A delegation from West Virginia University (WVU), led by their team lead Jeorge Atiles of Virginia West University and senior officials, paid a courtesy visit to Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage at Egerton University. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen academic collaboration and partnership opportunities between the two institutions.

During the visit, the WVU representatives expressed their interest in fostering partnerships that would enhance youth empowerment initiatives. Central to the discussion was the potential for expanding the 4K Clubs—an innovative youth program aimed at fostering leadership, entrepreneurship, and life skills among young people.

The Vice Chancellor said students needed practical skills that can drive socio-economic growth. Both parties explored opportunities for joint programs, student exchanges, and capacity-building workshops for staff that could strengthen the reach and impact.
Jeorge Atiles, the team lead of the visiting delegation thanked the Egerton University Administration for the warm welcome accorded to them and stressed the importance of building enduring relationships that contribute to the development of human capital and promote knowledge sharing.
He said there was need to foster more collaboration in helping the youth in exposing them to real and practical life skills activities through 4K clubs and agricultural extension programmes.
This visit exemplified a strong growing trend of West Virginia University and Egerton working together to address youth challenges and create sustainable pathways for empowerment.

The delegation is at the University on a three day working visit where they will tour ten schools within and outside the university including; Egerton Comprehensive school, Ndarugu Comprehensive, Subuku, Kilimo, 4K demo farm/botanical garden, and a wrap up at Ngongeri Comprehensive.
