On November 27, 2024, the Faculty of Health Sciences at Nakuru City Campus hosted a vibrant and memorable celebration for the 2024 Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduands, who participated in a powerful and symbolic trio of ceremonies: the Oathing, Candle Lighting, and Pinning ceremonies.

On November 27, 2024, the Faculty of Health Sciences at Nakuru City Campus hosted a vibrant and memorable celebration for the 2024 Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduands, who participated in a powerful and symbolic trio of ceremonies: the Oathing, Candle Lighting, and Pinning ceremonies. These time-honored traditions, which hold deep significance in the nursing profession, honor its core values of compassion, commitment, service, and knowledge. They also serve as a living testament to the profession's rich history, ethical roots, and enduring legacy.
Fifty-three (53) aspiring nurses marked this pivotal moment in their professional journey with heartfelt pledges, the lighting of candles, and the donning of badges, symbolizing their new responsibilities and dedication to the noble healthcare field. Presiding over the event, held at the Faculty offices in Milimani, were Dean Dr. Samson Obure and Nursing Department Chair Ms Alice Maranga-Ondieki, with special guest Betina Mueni Muthama from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) who represented the Registrar/CEO NCK.
Dr Vincent K. Mukthar, Ms Salome Otenyo, Deborah Kereri, Ms Queenville Apwoka and Doreen Rotich from the Department of Nursing were among Faculty staff in attendance The Director, Marketing and Resource Mobilization Prof. Nzula Kitaka was also present.
The ceremony not only celebrated the students' accomplishments but underscored their commitment to upholding the highest professional and ethical standards as they step into the world of healthcare. These remarkable students officially graduated during the 48th Graduation Ceremony on November 29, 2024, ready to make their mark in the nursing profession
