NJORO, Kenya — Ms Naomi Matheri has officially joined the Egerton University Council after being sworn in this morning as the representative of the Principal Secretary, National Treasury.
The ceremony took place at the Chancellor’s Boardroom, where she took the oath of office before Senior Legal Officer Bernard Ombui.

Ms Matheri succeeds Mr Julius K. Mutua, who previously served as the alternate representative of the Principal Secretary, National Treasury, on the University Council.
Members of the Council welcomed Ms Matheri to the team, expressing confidence that her experience in economic and fiscal management will add value to the Council’s deliberations and strengthen the University’s strategic governance.

Among those present during the ceremony were Hon. Gideon Koske, Eng. Christopher O. Oanda, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. George Muthaa.
Her arrival comes at an important time for Egerton University as the institution continues to advance its transformation agenda, strengthen institutional sustainability and expand its contribution to teaching, research, innovation and national development.
