In a collaborative effort to enhance oncology care, the Chestine Trust Foundation (NHS-UK), Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH), and Egerton University's Faculty of Health Sciences recently conducted a two-day oncology training in Nakuru County.
Held on November 20–21, 2024, at the Faculty of Health Sciences in Nakuru City Campus College, the program aimed to bridge the skills gap among health professionals. Thirty practitioners across various cadres participated, gaining valuable insights and skills in cancer care.
The training was led by renowned specialists, including Dr. Bahaty Riogi (KTRH Breast Cancer Specialist), Dr. R.O. Obwoge (Egerton University), and NHS-UK representatives Alison and Andrew. Similar initiatives are underway in Mombasa, Garissa, Kisii, and Nakuru counties, bolstering cancer care nationwide.
