Egerton University hosted a delegation from Oslo New University College to strengthen academic collaboration.

Egerton University hosted a delegation from Oslo New University College during a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening academic cooperation between the two institutions. The delegation comprised Gun Bente Johansen, Pernille Torp, Andreas Crosby, and Scott Jones.The guests were received by Vice Chancellor Isaac Kibwage. He noted that the visit builds on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last year. 

The MoU is a formal agreement that allows the two universities to work together in teaching, research, and student mobility programmes.Prof. Kibwage said the collaboration has already produced results. Training programmes in Project Management, Conflict Management, and Leadership and Team Building have been delivered. These programmes help students and staff gain practical professional skills that improve employability and institutional capacity.Three Egerton students studied at the Norwegian institution for one semester in 2024. This exchange gives students international exposure and experience in different learning environments. 

 Four additional students are expected to begin their exchange semester in August 2026, showing the partnership’s continued growth.The Egerton team hosting the visitors included Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Research and Extension Bernard Aduda, Director of Examinations and Timetabling Gilbert Obwoyere, and Psychology Department Chair Catherine Mumiukha.

The visitors also interacted with staff and students and toured university and community facilities. These engagements explored new opportunities for research collaboration, knowledge sharing, and expanded student and staff exchange programmes.
