Egerton University to Connect Youth to Social and Economic Opportunities through the USAID Empowered Youth Program

Egerton University in collaboration with Michigan State University (MSU), United States International University-Africa (USIU), National Cooperative Business Association CLUSA International (NCBA-CLUSA) and the National Youth Bunge Association (NYBA) will connect youth through social and economic opportunities through the USAID funded USAID Empowered Youth Program. The team brings on board expertise in youth engagement, gender equality, research, community-led development, entrepreneurship, education, innovative technologies, and workforce development needed for program execution

Michigan State University and Egerton University propose practical approach to address soil health crisis in Sub-Saharan Africa

Lisa Tiemann, a researcher from Michigan State University (MSU), in collaboration with Egerton University, is proposing a practical approach to address the soil health crisis affecting densely populated areas of Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The region's traditional agricultural practices are becoming unsustainable due to rising population density, leading to low and stagnant yields. The proposed sustainable form of intensification aims to provide recommendations across varying household-specific conditions.

Egerton University, one of Kenya's leading agricultural and research institutions, hosted the Second Workshop on Africa Asia Partnership for Sustainable Development on 25 April 2023. The Workshop, which aimed to enhance agricultural productivity and natural resources management towards contributing to the United Nations (U.N.) Sustainable Development Goals, was officially opened by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) Prof. Bernard Aduda.

Egerton University Renews its Commitment to Cooperate with Leading African Higher Education Institutions to Address Global Challenges

InVision Africa Photo Competition for Student

We are excited to announce the launch of the InVision Africa Photo Competition for students, a project of the Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) and the African Studies Centre (ASC) at Michigan State University that seeks to showcase, inspire, and contribute to positive images of and stories about Africa in the context of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The project will be open to student photographers and students with an interest in photography from 10 African universities that are part of the AAP consortium.

MSU/Egerton Student Project Showcase

An MSU/Egerton Student Project Showcase will be held on Friday, April 19, 10:00 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. at the MSU International Center, Room 303.

Egerton University and Michigan state university have been conducting joint student teaching and training of Human centered design led by Prof Susan Wyche of MSU department of information and Media funded by Mozilla Foundation. Susan works with prof Jonathan Choti who is also a professor at MSU. The Egerton university collaborators are Dr Miriam charimbu and Prof Paul Kimurto from Crops and soil science department. Both Egerton who include George Adoyo from CHS, Sharon moraa and Geofrey Mwiti from Agricultural Engineering dept, and Jimmy Karemu from Computer science and MSU students will be presenting their projects in Michigan state students will be presenting their joint project on Friday at MSU 19th April. Prof Paul Kimurto will be leading Egerton students in this trip.
