The 45^th Graduation of Egerton University is the long-awaited event at which we can acknowledge with pride that the hard work, sacrifice,which we can acknowledge with pride that the hard work, sacrifice,and resilience of our students have paid off. 

Egerton University promoted thirty-one academic staff members following a series of interviews conducted in August 2021. From a notice released by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor on 30 August 2021, ten academic staff members were promoted from associate professors to professors from interviews conducted on 19 and 20 August. Another notice released the same day indicated that twenty-one academic staff were promoted to associate professors from interviews conducted on 3, 10, 12 and 13 August 2021, respectively.

The Egerton University community mourns the passing of Prof. Richard S. Musangi and celebrates the University’s connection to this distinguished scholar, educator, and academic administrator. Prof. Musangi, who was born in 1934 in Bungoma County, Western Kenya, was the Principal of Egerton College between 1981 and 1987. Upon the elevation of the College to a University in the latter year, he became the inaugural Vice-Chancellor of Egerton University, serving in that capacity until 1992.

Egerton University Council has appointed Prof. Joshua O. Ogendo as the New Principal of Nakuru Town Campus College effective 16 August, 2021 for a period of five years through a competitive process that attracted a large number of applicants from several universities in Kenya. Professor Ogendo is an Associate Professor of crop protection (stored products entomology) in the Department of Crops, Horticulture and Soils, Faculty of Agriculture.

The Chancellor of Egerton University, Dr Narendra Rameshchandra Raval, EBS will be visiting the Nakuru Town Campus College on Friday 3^rd September, 2021.

Egerton University and the University of Nairobi have partnered with the University of Hohenheim (Germany) in the Strengthening Urban Resilience in Food and Nutrition Security (SURE) project in Kenya. The project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in Germany to a tune of € 624,999.94 (roughly Ksh 80 million), runs from 1 June 2021 to 31 May 2024 and will be conducted at informal settlements at urban centres in Nairobi county (Kangemi, Mathare, Kawangware and Kibera).

The National Environment Complaints Committee (NECC) Chairman DrJustryNyaberi, Committee Secretary, Dr John Chumo, and members of the Hindu Religious & Service Centre (HRSC) Mr Jayaram Ankala, Mr Nitin Shah and Ms Diva Shah on 14 October held a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Professor Isaac Kibwage.

The Rector of Malatya Turgut Ozal Univercity, Prof. Dr Aysun Bay Karabulut and Doc. Dr Ercan Karabulut of Ankara Yildirim Beyazit Univercity, both based in Turkey, paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor of Egerton University, Prof. Isaac O. Kibwage, on Wednesday, 19 January 2022.

On 13 April 2022, Egerton University (EU) officially opened the EU Minimart located at the Main Campus Entrance in Njoro.

As part of its long term strategy to reach out to all Counties to market University Academic programs and its products, Egerton University staff led by Directorate of Marketing and staff and students of different faculties, attended the Kilimo Biashara Expo 2023, held at KALRO Seeds Head Office in Thika, from March 23 to 24, 2023. The event brought together potential students, farmers, agribusiness suppliers, service providers and government agencies to showcase their academic programs, products and services to potential customers, investors and entrepreneurs.

Egerton University, a renowned agricultural institution in Kenya, has become a popular destination for educational visits by both local and international schools. These visits provide students with the opportunity to witness the state-of-the-art agricultural facilities and gain valuable information about higher education, career development, agricultural technologies, and innovations at the university.

In the heart of the North Rift region, a transformative event was taking place at the Parachichi Centre in Uasin Gishu County. The renowned Egerton University dons, Professor Paul Kimurto and Dr. Caroline Mutua, stood before a gathering of eager residents, urging them to embrace new farming opportunities to combat the challenges posed by climate change and soil degeneration.

The school Visits programme at Egerton University continues to attract students across the country who come to benchmark and learn practicals from the Facilities available.The Programme began more than 10 years ago and has now gone a notch higher making the learners have a feel of their University of choice, especially with the new university’s funding model.

10TH MAU Egerton University Cross Country

On the July 9th ,2025 , at Egerton University,Njoro Campus,Professor Nzula Kitaka led the planning committee for the Kenya National Research Festival (KNRF) 2025 to finalize preparations for the upcoming event.

Egerton University, Nakuru – July 10, 2025 Egerton University, in collaboration with the National Research Fund (NRF) and the Nakuru County Festival Committee, held a strategic meeting yesterday to launch Phase One of preparations for the Kenya National Research Festival.
