The Confucius Institute (CI) at Egerton University was set up with the joint efforts of Egerton University in Kenya and Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) in China.

To promote environmental conservation, Egerton University staff, students and the community, on Saturday 31 July 2021, held a tree planting event at the University's Water Dam site next to University Botanical Garden.

The second day of the Cultural Week held at Nyayo Gardens in Nakuru City was a huge success with impressive performances of song, dance, and cultural folklore. The Egerton University students added an interesting twist to the event by dressing up in various outfits.

The Chinese Ambassador's Scholarship Awarding Ceremony was held at Egerton University, presided over by the Acting Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Zhang Zhizhong, alongside the University's Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Richard Mulwa.
