• The acting Vice Chancellor of Maseno University, Prof. Erick Nyambedha,
• Members of the University Management and Senate,
• Distinguished faculty and honoured guests,
• And most importantly, our celebrated Bachelor of Pharmacy finalists,
• Ladies and gentlemen, a very good evening.
It is a great honour to join you as you celebrate a historic milestone. Congratulations to Maseno University on your inaugural Bachelor of Pharmacy class. You are making history and tonight we celebrate pioneers.
To the finalists, I offer my warmest congratulations. You have completed demanding years of study, practical training and professional preparation. You have earned this moment through discipline, resilience and hard work.
As a pharmacist and a Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, I understand the journey you have travelled. I also know that your upcoming graduation is not the finish line. It is the beginning of a profession that calls for competence, integrity and compassion.
Many of you will serve patients in hospitals and pharmacies in our communities. Others will join pharmaceutical manufacturing, research institutions, academia or public health programmes. Some will shape policy and safeguard the quality, safety and efficacy of medicines in our regulatory institutions. Wherever your path leads, never stop learning. Healthcare is evolving rapidly. We are witnessing breakthroughs in digital health systems, biotechnology, precision medicine and pharmaceutical innovation.
Always remember that behind every prescription is a human life. Let your knowledge be matched by empathy. Let your success be measured not only by your career, but by the lives you improve.
As pioneers, you carry the responsibility of setting high standards for those who will follow. Be ethical. Be curious. Be bold enough to innovate. Be humble enough to keep learning.
I wish each one of you a fulfilling career and God's blessings as you begin the next exciting chapter.
Congratulations once again, and thank you.
