Egerton University is pleased to announce the inaugural Europe–Africa POLYCIVIS Conference 2026 under the theme:
"Confronting the Europe–Africa Polycrisis: Advancing Peace, Equitable Trade, Digital Transformation, Environmental Sustainability, Resilient Food Systems, Human Mobility, Youth Empowerment and Inclusive Development."
The conference will be held at Kenya School of Government, Nairobi, Kenya, from 9th–11th September 2026.
The Europe–Africa POLYCIVIS Conference provides a multidisciplinary platform for researchers, academics, policymakers, innovators, development practitioners, industry leaders, civil society organizations, students and development partners to examine the interconnected challenges facing Europe and Africa. Through research, innovation and policy dialogue, the conference seeks to generate evidence-based solutions that strengthen peace, democratic governance, inclusive economic development, environmental sustainability and resilient societies.
The conference recognizes that contemporary challenges, including conflict, climate change, trade disruptions, technological transformation, migration, food insecurity and social inequalities, are interconnected and require collaborative, interdisciplinary responses. Participants will have the opportunity to present original research, policy analyses, technological innovations, case studies and best practices that contribute to addressing the Europe–Africa polycrisis.
Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished work aligned with one or more of the conference thematic areas.

Authors of selected abstracts will be required to submit full papers and will be invited to present their papers in person during the conference. Selected papers will also be considered for publication in the conference proceedings.
