Egerton University collaborates and networks with several institutions with an aim of resource sharing and professional networking. Such institutions include: United Nations [UN] Library, World Bank [WB] Library, and other Public and Private University Libraries.  Through the Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium [KLISC] the Library is able to acquire and access electronic information (e-journals, ebooks) at subsidized rates.

In collaboration with the National Book Development Council of Kenya [NBDCK], the Library provides community outreach services. A good example of the out reach service is the children reading tent and the children holiday camp based at the main campus, Njoro. During the holiday camp, the children are exposed to reading, storytelling, poem recital, competition, educational games etc.
