Electrical and Control Engineering (ECEN) department is one of the four departments under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, established in January 1999. The department prides itself in producing engineers who can solve problems in control, instrumentation, automated production lines, electronics and manufacturing industries. The department has state of the art laboratories, rich in equipment for instrumentation, electric machines, control, electronics and telecommunications.
To train Electrical, Telecommunication, Instrumentation and Control Engineers to international standards through teaching and research.
The objectives of the BSc Instrumentation and Control Engineering programme are to:
1. Prepare engineers who can plan, design and construct instrumentation and control systems.
2. Develop and inculcate the engineer with intellectual, imaginative and engineering skills so as to be able to respond and adapt to change, anticipate and initiate such a change.
