MESSAGE FROM THE DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR (FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION)
The Division of Administration & Finance (A&F) has two main departments namely:-
i) Finance and Accounts, which is headed by the Finance & Accounts Controller;
ii) Administration, which is headed by the Registrar, Administration.
The Finance and Accounts Department is responsible for prudent financial management including the budgetary process, disbursement of funds, payments; tracking of debtors and creditors, including students’ finance; while the Administration department is responsible for staff recruitment, induction, staff training and development, industrial relations, staff welfare and monitoring of staff performance. In addition, the Division of A&F is responsible for management of assets and capital developments. It is the aim of the division to ensure that the University operates with efficiency and effectiveness for the sustainability of staff, students, community and stakeholders.
The Division also works closely with the Egerton University Company to turn around the Income Generating Units of Agricultural Resource Centre (ARC), Ngongongeri Farm and the Egerton Castle. The Division is also involved in developing University assets such as Chemeron Dry Land Station and Egerton University land in Mikinduni in Lamu County.
The Division welcomes suggestions from staff, students and the wider society on how best the University can be improved for the benefit of humanity.
